Throughout spring individual wasp that have survived winter are busy preying on other insects, feeding mainly on protein sources and collecting nest-building materials. At this time of the year they are rarely a pest and in fact, very rarely noticed by people. As the summer progresses, the wasps\' attentions turn more to energy foods to maintain their activity. At this time they are highly attracted to sugary foods and drinks, which bring them into conflict with people.

The use of wasp traps can reduce wasp pressure and annoyance in public areas as well as being an aid to control when used alongside wasp nest treatments. Place traps ideally in shaded locations suspended from trees, posts or poles. If the nest location is know, place between the nest and places where they are considered a problem, such as patio areas, in order to intercept foraging wasps.

The specially formulated liquid bait is particularly attractive to wasps (Vespula spp) and flies yet repellent to beneficial insects such as bees. It is especially formulated for use with the Dome Trap. These products offer efficient methods of reducing populations of these nuisance insects when used within appropriate trapping devices.
