With larger species such as Geometrids (loopers), Lymantrids (tussock moths) and Cossids (goat moths), the sticky inserts of delta traps become quickly overloaded or contaminated by wing scales. For larger moths, particularly when higher numbers are present, the AgriSense Funnel Trap is recommended.
Having a large retaining bucket the Funnel Trap can effectively collect very large number of moths. Funnel traps should also be considered if the area to be monitored is particularly dusty. Large amounts of dust landing on the glue insert of delta traps can impede effectiveness.
